Coyote

Coyote

Swamp water is a tincture of dead cells from decomposing plants, and animals.  The coyote laps it up.  The coyote tastes it all.  The what.  The where.  The when.  The coyote tastes muskrat, cattails, turtle, cypress, and a rich variety of fecal matter.  One of the most ethereal mucks on Earth adds particulate matter to this amber brew.

The coyote lifts his head and sniffs.  (Don’t get me started.)  He throws urine high onto a cypress knee.  He heads into the swamp where he will spend the night curled, on a small hummock, the bones, face, and tail of his dinner nearby.
